Hi all
I am sure that by now most of you are aware that this Friday we have a firework display and Lantern Parade which will make its way through the park to the Bowling Club.
The organisers have worked extremely hard to produce a new event for Whaley Bridge this will feature:
For the first time in Whaley a lantern parade-over 200 lanterns have been made by school children in Whaley and Buxworth. W3 has been pleased to sponsor some of the materials for this. This promises to be magical and leaves from Taxal School.
A Samba band in the park
Powderkegs Morris
Burger/Bratwurst/Hot dog stall (W3 Catering)
Fairground amusements
Live Music in the Club
Licenced bar in the club
Hopefully something for all the family
This event relies on and can only continue with your support.
We would like to thank all local business, the Town Council and all those individuals and local organisations that have helped so far.
Ticket available on the door or from the Club or the Mechanics now

I forgot to mention the fire art
As we can't have a bonfire on the Bowling green or car park some fire sculptures have been sourced-these are four braziers which have art work scuplted into them and will provide beacons which will, we hope be more impressive than a pile of pallets ablaze
In addition there are some "candleabre"
The best three quid or one for a child that you will have spent

Hi,
FIREWORKS AND LANTERN PARADE TONIGHT !
The Lantern Parade starts at 5pm from Taxal and Fernilee school and snakes its way down Macc Rd, along Goyt road,then alongthe path by the river - over Wheatsheaf Road Bridge and on to the Bowling Club. It should be a great sight. Fireworks at 7pm at the Bowling Club. Events start at 4.30pm. Barry lists the various events below.
The hope is to continue this event in future years, so your ticket money and any other contributions/income on the night will go to help make this happen.
If anybody wishes to help by being a steward on the night could you try and meet at 3pm at the Bowling Club at firework headquaters, which is the kitchen/office area closest to the carpark. We need as many stewards as possible and the more we have the better. There wil be abriefing at that time. If you cant get there at 3pm, then please turn up as soon as you can and report to the same place. Needless to say, dress warmly with good footwear, gloves coat etc as it will not be too tropical tonight.
