Could someone please tell me what the financial objective of Whaley Water Weekend is? The Rose Queen Carnival is the traditional fund raising event in Whaley Bridge where profits are distributed to local youth organisations and good causes - Brownies, Scouts, Junior Football and Cricket teams, Pre School and Toddler groups etc. Does the donating of funds to local groups also apply to the profits from the Whaley Water Weekend or is it a commercial venture?

Whaley Laner,
You say earlier that you have a WWW leaflet. On that leaflet are the contact details for the organizing committee. Also available on the WWW website.
Why dont you just pick up your phone and give them a ring, or better still just have a chat to Barry when you next see him in the Goyt. Then you can report back.

I'm not a regular pub goer & would equally be interested in the charitable distributions locally from the fantastic work of the WWW team/organisers. Out of interest, is it a charity as such? There will be some accounts available for those troubled with the financial accountability of the entity that WWW3 present themselves as. Doesn't matter to me if Joe Bloggs  benefits from this, as they deserve it for the hardwork employed, as clearly a lot went on in the background that would have impacted on the time for those so engaged, possibly on their own working time/family life. Someone moaned on another post about the Pink Floyd tribute band for various reasons, to me this was a great attraction to the event that would have taken up considerable  time to conclude (just wish the volume had been turned up for Jam Butty Hill, sic).

Could we arrange for 'Elbow to Ulna', to be supporting  next year?
