Hi,

The Tour of Britain Route was announced last night. I have analysed it on Garmin Connect, and suggest that it will come down Long Hill, past Gio's, past the Bike Factory and the Mechanics, before gaining the bypass at Tesco, and then going over Rushup Edge to Winnats Pass. http://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/stages/#.VQl0fEKbUok. The Councillors may have more information because presumably they know about this.

Hi,
I know about the KiloToGo Tour of the Peak event on the 17th May , as the Pavillion by the football pitches is being used as a route station for the event. see: http://www.kilotogo.com/...t_detail&event_id=91

However, I did not know about the Tour of Britain route, which of course is a massive event.

Cheers

Jon.

Quite right, Jon. Kilo2Go is one of these standard amateur sportives we see most summer weekends. ToB is a pro tour race. Team Sky et al. Expect rolling road closures, though.

Hi,

The official route map has been released and the Tour comes down Long Hill from Buxton, through Whaley and Bridgemont and then through Chinley
I can't wait!

I've been looking at the full timings for this:

http://www.tourofbritain..._-_Nottingham_ETA_v4.pdf

Seems there's a drinks station in Whaley, which could be fun (opportunity for discarded freebies!).

Anybody got any idea where it will be?
