The children are of different ages; looking at the kids on the front row compared with the lad sitting on the left there seems to be about 4-5 years between them. Some of the younger members of the forum may remember Jim Longson who is in the centre on the front row. He was one of the senior scouts in the area and in his latter days he could be seen in full regaila ( if that is what scouts wear...R. S-S should know). He also had a converted coach parked in the lay-by at Taxal where he catered for the passing motorists serving wonderful breakfasts all day

Percy Jones had the shop near the Railway in Whaley for years and ran it with Peggy.

Freddie Woodward needs no introducing as everyone knows of him and his shop on Chapel Road. If his son David reads this forum he may give a date to the photo. There must be quite a lot of decendants out there who could date it better than me at about 1935.

Thank you so much for the photo with my Mum (Betty (Bette) Lomas). As someone else already said, it's great to see a photo of 'Boss' Oldfield - she used to talk about him a lot. I would really like to see the earlier one with George Lomas - my grandad whom I have never seen (!) but it isn't there any more. Can anyone help please?
