Just a note to remind people that the event is on again this year. The dates are October 4th and 5th.

There will  be about a dozen traction engines again with some new "faces", some vintage cars, lorries and tractors on display at either venue, or trundling from one to the other.  The vintage cars and motorbikes have a new area to show themselves off between the basins at the cana. lWe are also lucky in having several working narrow boats on display in the basin.

Things will kick off around midday on the Saturday (although some exhibits will be arriving Friday tea-time), and run through till about tea-time on the Sunday.

There is no admission charge, but we hope that visitors will help defray the costs by availing themselves of the beer and food offered by the Navigation and the Club, and donate a little to either or both of the charities that we are supporting - the East Midlands Air Ambulance, and the IWPS who have been instrumental in saving and restoring the Bugsworth Canal Basin - the world's first railway/canal interchange.

There is live music on at the "Navi" on Saturday night, and at the Club on Sunday afternoon.  The Club have the truly excellent Biggles Wartime Band, who play Glastonbury each year , and they are sure to entertain everyone with their wonderful act. We are fortunate again to have the large 87key Gavioli previously owned by Mr Herbert Slack of Chapel playing all weekend on the Navigation Car Park. This was one the very first organs bought for preservation probably in the 1940s, but 2013 is the first year that it has been taken to a steam rally.

There will be a hog roast outside the club, which has been  a sell-out in previous years, with visitors and exhibitors completely devouring 2 large pigs (one each day)

If you have anything you'd like to bring along to display, let me know on here, and I am sure we will be able to accommodate you.

Herbert Slacks model Derbyshire Gallopers will be also on display just up the tram tracks at CJK Packaging on Charley Lane.
This will be the first time for over 25 years that they have been displayed so there is a whole generation that has never seen them.

A vintage bus will be shuttling to and from Buxworth Steam Fair and Charley Lane.

Winner of multiple awards including the coveted Duke of Edinburghs Model makers award it has featured on "Blue Peter" and in the film "Oh what a lovely war", as well as being used for the opening sequence in the 1950s children's programme "Whirligig".
There is even a picture of it being visited by then prime minister Sir Anthony Eden, taking time off from the Suez Crisis!
