Whereabouts was this situated? Lovely bridge, and such a shame it's no longer there.

Just downstream of the modern Erwood dam

Ah, so it was not on Fernilee resi then? Are you saying it was near the road which crosses between Erwood and Fernilee resi's?

I stand to be corrected by more knowledgeable historians but in their absence I will venture to comment

The bridge was, I think, just North (downstream) of the road you mention but - because before the Errwodd dam was built Fernilee resr would have extended further up the valley - it was across Fernilee resr.

Hi cawright
The suspension bridge was where the outfall from errwood reservoir now stands there is a flat piece of grass where the footpath comes across. the path is the clue the reason the bridge was there was that this used to be a ford below bunsall farm and when the reservoir was built they had to maintain some of the rights of way Dave is correct that fernilee reservoir extended further than it does today

There is a remnant of a stone structure and railing on the the C&HP side behind a fence, I have often wondered if that was part of the stone plinth where the iron lattice once stood? Does anybody Know?

Very near.

Go to the middle of the dam, jump off and it was where the little yellow man is. Or better still walk down.

Fabulous, thanks. Maybe I won't jump over though, I'll just take a walk.
