Those interested in such things may enjoy this, fully searchable, archive of New York State newspapers. The opening page is rather eccentric, and loading times can be slow, but it has a wealth of information.  Searching for "Whaley Bridge" gives around 40 results (some duplicates)

I was intrigued by one Midgley Marsden or Marsdon of Whaley Bridge, who is mentioned several times as an internationally renown dog-show judge. Does anyone have any other information?

RB?    Would you have any objection to this link being posted in another forum whose name may not be spoken?
The optimist believes that Whaley Bridge is the best place in the world to live. The pessimist fears he might be correct.

I can see no reason why anyone should object - It is a publicly available link after all.
