Just a note to remind people that the event is on again this year. The dates are October 5th and 6th.

There will  be about a dozen traction engines again, some vintage cars, lorries and tractors on display at either venue, or trundling from one to the other. A vintage motor bike club are also putting on a display at the canal basin before and after their ride round the area, so if old motor bikes are your thing, this should be right up your street. We are also lucky in having several working narrow boats on display in the basin.

Things will kick off around midday on the Saturday (although some exhibits will be arriving Friday tea-time), and run through till about tea-time on the Sunday.

There is no admission charge, but we hope that visitors will help defray the costs by availing themselves of the beer and food offered by the Navigation and the Club, and donate a little to either or both of the charities that we are supporting - the East Midlands Air Ambulance, and the IWPS who have been instrumental in saving and restoring the Bugsworth Canal Basin - the world's first railway/canal interchange.

There is live music on at the "Navi" on Saturday night, and at the Club on Sunday afternoon. In addition, fairground organs will entertain outside both the Club and the Navigation. We are extremely honoured to have the large 87key Gavioli previously owned by Mr Herbert Slack of Chapel playing all weekend on the Navigation Car Park. This was one the very first organs bought for preservation probably in the 1940s, but 2013 is the first year that it has been taken to a steam rally.

The War Memorial Club is hoping to have some Whaley Bridge Brewery beer on offer over the weekend, and as demand is currently out-stripping demand at the brewery, we urge anyone with a liking for good real ales to come along and sample this. There will be a hog roast outside the club, which was a sell-out both days last year, with visitors and exhibitors completely devouring 2 large pigs (one each day)
