Mrs Rock Banker was very taken with an Adam's Needle (yucca filamentosa -  http://www.rhs.org.uk/Plants/19164/Yucca-filamentosa/Details ) that she saw in full bloom in a sheltered south facing garden on the outskirts of Chester.

Does anyone have any experience (good or bad) of this plant in the more demanding environment of Whaley Bridge?
