I seem to remember that the garage on Buxton Road (Long Hill), now an Autotech Service Station, was once (in the 1960s) Hallam's Garage. My grandfather (Jack) and his brother Colin started the Hallam Bros Garage in Hayfield after the second world war, selling off surplus army lorries. I'm sure they weren't involved in the Whaley Garage; any idea which Hallam was? Edited by user 04 September 2015 09:20:10(UTC)
