Actually noticed something quite quickly as I was looking at the articles, they have undercharged .

Others may like to check but 21st Sept

2 braid @ 6 1/2 d and 4 1/2 braid @ 9 1/2 d is    ...   1/1 +  3/6 1/2d  = 4s 7 1/2d   not   2s   3 1/2d

I noticed that 4 times 9d is 3/- so it must be wrong.

How sad is that

I noticed that the name on the receipt from Milligans is an S Jackson. I wonder if thats a relative of our own Glenda on here?

Also, it rather looks like both bills were for things bought a shortly before the Hon. Mrs Preston died in January 1929 (not at the Hall, incidentally), but only got settled by the executors of her will in the October of that year.

Heres a nice little piece of history to add to the web site.

I recall someone saying on one of the threads what was the point of sending postcards so locally, well here is a good example of why people sent post cards not just because they were on holiday but this was the cheapest, quickest and most reliable form of communication, as there were two postal deliveries a day even Christmas day delivery, you could send a message in the morning and if it was local it would be delivered same day in the afternoon, these three all relate to Errwood Hall one was sent and signed by Joseph Oyarzabel.

Hi all

I'm new to the forum,  when I found your  wonderful website I couldn't believe my luck. May I give the creator a very big thank you   I myself have been researching errwood hall but does anyone have any information on the land workers of the hall in the 1800s.

I'm still trying to find my bearings around the ruin, but the route you take to the grave site are they the cottages ?? 

I have read that there was 13 farms on the estate but I can only find few of theses name, does anyone know if any were near the hall, and if so the people that worked the farms did they also have to work the hall estate too.

what I'm trying to get at is if anything untoward happened on the estate IE accidents resulting to deaths & deaths by murder. I'm looking into the myths of the hall supposing being haunted, the reasons I say that is because I have been up their a few time but on one occasion I did hear something that I couldn't explane. Any information will be very much appreciated

I was up there last night and I couldn't believe it when I got their there, motor bike scramblers in the car park & at the ruin local lads sat in the middle of the ruin having a barbecue & camping, something has got to be done about this its becoming into a local camp site for teenagers.
