I've been told Edwina Currie now lives in the area.

Can anyone confirm this?

Rumour at the Oddies has it that she has moved to Whitehough and has been seen drinking in the Oddies.
The optimist believes that Whaley Bridge is the best place in the world to live. The pessimist fears he might be correct.

My favorite place - take your own drink, or buy it next door at the shop which quite a good selection of stuff.

The curries there are excellent. You may need to book on a Friday/Saturday, but they also do take aways.

N.B. The Cafe Bombay doesn't take plastic so either a cheque or cash. The prices are similar to Rusholme and the quality is unbeatable.

I am guilty of going off topic. If the thread continues on curry houses, I'll move that bit of it to to the general discussion area. Cheers jon.

Here is a tweet from a couple of years ago from Test Match Special scorer Malcolm Ashton talking about being in Whaley with none other than former West Indies test player Michael Holding; and apparently both he and the legendary fast bowler had a “top night”.
I wonder where they were?

Big thanks to all at Whaley Bridge last night where Michael Holding and myself were providing the entertainment. Top night.
