The Midland Hotel stood on Back Lane which was adjacent to the Market Place, I think it may have been more of a Beer House than what we concieve as an Hotel and probably came into existence with the opening of The Midland Railway Line which ran close by, there were a number of old cottages and buildings which no longer stand at the back of the Market Place and at one point there were 11 Inns and beer houses in and around The Market Square, with some having special Licence to open longer on Market Days.

Unfortunatly I have never seen a Photo of The Midland Hotel Chapel, but that's not to say there isn't one out there somewhere, I do have Photos of The Midland Hotel Buxton, that's now Weatherspoons and The Midland at Peak Dale both stood next to the Railway Line.
