Hi,

I took RSS's photo and used photoshop to 'repair' it. The gable end of the house is not right, but the major damage has been 'repaired'.

Cheers

Jon.

Re: Jam Butty Hill.
Norman Heathcote late Butcher of Whaley Bridge always refered to it as 'Corned Beef Hill' they came in the shop dressed to buy steak, never fully paid the bill and really could only afford Corned Beef! this was following the development of Meadow side in the 1970's when as had been said previously no-one in Whaley could afford to buy a house there (& the one's that could didn't want to). I remember my boyfriend at the the time working on the first houses to be built on the estate.
Lady M, missing for a while but getting back up-to speed slowly!

See you all soon

Before my time I'm afraid, but wonder what delightful little pet names other parts of Whaley were known as?

Lady M.

Does this mean that you go into the Jug & Spoon, and after much liquid refreshment, all you do is Giggle & Gaggle?

If you find the Jug and Spoon take a photo of it before the HP848 buildings go up on the site. They could be named Jug and Spoon Housing estate Nos 1 to 83  [See the General Discussion forum  "proposed Housing developments"].

Good afternoon Lady Madonna, Jonny Summers and Jacko.

Jonny, you are, of course, correct in your identification of the Giggle Gaggle. Here is a clue to help you find the Jug and Spoon.

If you follow the river Goyt south until you come across possibly the biggest act of rural vandalism this village has seen you won't be far away from your target.

Lady M, it's so good to see you are getting back up to speed. You may not be aware that Well Known Norm has informed the forum that our good friend R. S-S is also not particularly well at the moment but hopefully he will also return sooner rather than later.

Jacko, not for the first time, I have know idea what you're on about.
