I have not seen any reference to this in the Forum, so in the spirit of the proverb used in Teach Yourself books "give instruction to a wise man that he become yet the wiser", can I draw this to the attention of anyone who has not yet discovered it
Go to Google Earth.
Put in postcode eg SK23 to bring up latest aerial photo.
Select the clock icon. It gives a slider with a choice of dates, as far back as 1945. Slide to this and select. It gives a 1945 black-and-white aerial photo. Not all the UK is covered - it goes east to Dove Holes, north to Gowhole.
I am sure you will all find features of interest relevant to many of the topics in this forum, both in terms of what is shown, and what is not yet there.
Apologies if you all already knew this!
