Does anyone know what is happening regarding repairs to the footpath past Bings Farm to Bings Road? I know that the tarmac path started to collapse a couple of weeks ago (possibly due to hot weather) and now it is closed. I just hope it will be re-opened this side of Christmas...

The closure notice outside the Mechanics says it will be shut until the end of August. Whether that will get extended is another matter of course ... |

There is a notice up now stating that work will be going on from August 26th for a fortnight to repair dangerous subsidence. I had a walk down from the top yesterday and the part of the path across the field has been seriously undermined, presumably by storm water. |
The optimist believes that Whaley Bridge is the best place in the world to live. The pessimist fears he might be correct. |

I had a look outside the Mechanics, and the only repair notice I could find was for the Whaley Lane footpath. I have e-mailed DCC to ask for more details, but haven't received a reply.
