Dear All

Does anyone have a good supplier of logs for a multi stove burner?  I've bought from a certain supermarket and they were so wet they didn't burn and I'm looking for someone local who would deliver a bulk load.

Thanks in anticipation

One thing I have learned is that bought logs are much more expensive than buying smokeless fuel to use on the stove. I was talking to a guy from Macclesfield who supplies bulk logs and he charges £60 a tonne. A local hardware store was selling a net bag of six or so pieces of wood for £3.95!!!! A tonne of logs doesn't last all that long whereas I can make half a tonne of fuel last for about 3 months of continuous burning. Not many people give away logs these days which is a great pity. :(

Thank you Tarboat - I know what you mean about the cost of logs compared to coal so I have started lighting the stove with logs and then putting coal on.
