Good evening Mr Jackson,
Might you be referring to ‘Cash Box Kitty’?
Hmm, you may be more advanced in years than I thought.

G.J.
Kitty took the entrance fee on the way in but previous to that (so i am told) she would play the piano to the silent movies.Do you recall Mr Dyer working at the picture house,he would stand on an empty biscuit tin to light the gas exit lights just before the end of the first house. We used to go in to 9d seats then when the lights went out sneak into the bob seats. It was not unusual to see the odd rat scuttle around. One night whilst we were all watching a film someone rolled a bottle down the inclined floor from up in the best seats and a voice from the lower clas seats shouted "Thats that rat with the wooden leg".The odd time the film would burn out and the projectionist had to disturbed from his drink, over in the Railway pub to put things right.

Well done Frankie in solving my teaser, I knew she played the piano during the silent films. She was a very good pianist and played well into old age. I can remember visiting her at home and singing round the piano and Fred from next door would whistle as usual.
