Dear Manchester,
We of Whaley Bridge note with some alarm that you have drunk Toddbrook Reservoir. We sincerely hope that your apparent thirst is short-lived and that you you will soon get back to your usual pattern of getting trolleyed on Bacardi Breezers.
Get well soon.
Love from,
The People of Whaley

I do not support that letter unless Toddbrook is in the Lake District.
I don't mind being wrong but I thought Manchester supped from The Lake District. We supped from Fernilee, and The Peak Forrest canal supped from Toddbrook (and Combs)

But this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fernilee_Reservoir indicates that Stockport drinks of the Fernilee, and this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toddbrook_Reservoir indicates that you are right about the PFC. So maybe it's the ducks and roaches that are thirsty. N.

MCR or Stockport - whatever. Can we please have our water back?
If it's back in our reservoir before the end of the weekend, we'll say no more about it.
Well done NCE for bringing that to our attention. They'll steal anything if it's not nailed down.

Hi nce
Don't think we can blame this one on the townies nicking our water. If you look under the “Toddbrook Reservoir” thread on the Local History forum you will see a post from Fedup stating the water has been drained to allow the inspection of various valves.
