During many hours waiting for the 199 bus I have opportunity to observe that two of the houses on Canal Street - numbers 8 and 9 just below the fish shop - seem to be of a more grandiose construction than is usual for residential properties in that area. They are built of large, very well finished, stone blocks; have a small raised façade; and at least one window has a rather interesting mullion. Were they a commercial property at one time - perhaps a bank? And how do you insert a paragraph break? Edited by user 21 December 2010 08:35:10(UTC)

Assuming that a paragraph break isn't some sort of obscure architectural feature (like a gudgeon) on the houses in question, I insert a paragraph break like this:
I merely pressed that big key with the "new line" icon that is on the far right of the top two rows of alphabetic characters.

It's called the ENTER key, normally (but mine is called peter).
Wasn't one of these buildings the old telephone exchange before the one above the old post office? Edited by user 21 December 2010 12:58:56(UTC)

Dave,
Why don’t you simply type your posts in a word document; exactly to your liking?
When you post a new topic or a reply you simply follow the 3 simple steps and copy and paste it.
That way you can save all your very marvellous contributions in a folder and can read them at your leisure.

NB: 3 paragraphs here, David.
