Today is the day we can all exercise our democratic right and vote in the local elections.

I will be voting for Barrie Taylor and I would encourage all Whaley residents to do the same.

The last thing we want is a Tory from Chapel representing our interests.

I shall be excercising my democratic right to leave my voting card in it's envelope.

Although you are fully entitled to choose not to vote, I would remind you that people have fought and lost their lives to preserve the democratic rights of this country. I would encourage every UK citizen, including Mr Neil Shaw, to use their vote.
