What a treasure trove Norm - well done ! You're doing a fab job. Once again, I have spent a lovely hour wandering through the photos, some I don't recall seeing before - did I miss them or are there new ones as well?
Excellent job - thank you.

Some are new to this site, more to come. Probably not as many as other collections being talked about on this site, but I think it may prove useful people can comment and add new pictures.
Norm
PS Thanks :)

Hi George
Yes, you must be using an older Internet Explorer. I have had to install Google Chrome viewer on some older machines.
It is from Google and it is safe.
I forgot to mention, this is not the full browser called Chrome from Google, it is just a small viewer to see the photos quicker etc.

Thanks all.
There is a fault on it at the moment so I have disabled the search facility. I am re-indexing it and "messing" with it, that's a computing term for trying to fix it.
When the search facility is back I will repost, but it may be a few days/weeks so don't hold your breath but it will be fixed!

Hi Norm,
Re post 6: Can you tell me how to install a Google Chrome Viewer without installing the full Chrome Browser please? Bit confused about this. Thanks!

Hi
When I used a machine with an older Internet Explorer it went automatically to a page saying you needed to install Chrome frame viewer, I just clicked on install and it worked. Now I cannot do it again since it is now installed.
Is it saying you need to install Chrome? Obviously I cannot comment on every machine configuration but I will do some enquiries in the mean time. Chrome is not a bad browser to have anyway but that is up to you, it has some functions that IE doesn't have, especially older versions of IE.

I use Mozilla Firefox. It opens the picture gallery without using Google Chrome.
I ditched Internet Explorer ages ago because it kept saying there was a problem and had to close, usually in the middle of something.

Hi Digger
Yes I agree. I have looked at the site using IE, Chrome, Firefox and Safari (that's used by Apple stuff like Ipads etc).
I bet you can guess the three that work perfectly

Trouble is that Microsoft seem to hold a power that makes people a bit wary of anything else as if it's not to be trusted.
People often bring computers to me with problems or viruses etc, and want me to recover things. So I just use an Ubuntu CD to boot it up, good old Linux. Cuts out the Windows rubbish, and often allows me to fix anything.

Whereas the exact opposite is often nearer the truth

And with that disk and a little knowledge of the windows registry you can bypass all the password protection in the world. Edited by user 28 October 2012 22:02:01(UTC)

The first quote is a matter of opinion but I wouldn't put down Linux, Google and Apple so quickly.
As for the second quote that is a can of worms. If you mean simple logon passwords that may be true. Remember a certain Mr Glitter that was arrested in 1999 when staff at PC World in Bristol, found "material" on his computer. Passwords on files I presume is another matter. If you have anything on your computer that you wish to be totally secure I doubt if anyone in computing will say it is a 100% secure. I am safe in the knowledge that everything on mine is useless to anyone else and I always tell people never to put anything on a computer you wouldn't want anyone to see. Unless you happen to be an old glam rock star, which I am sure you are not Dave. Edited by user 28 October 2012 22:40:21(UTC)
