Hi,

I've recently come to find out about and locate  4 of the 5 ( demolished ) farms on the opposite side of Fernilee reservoir: Shaw Stile, Upper Hall, Brownhills, and Nook.

I was wondering if any of our photographic contributors have any photos at all of these farms and possibly the farm/house at the entrance to Goyt's Lane at the top of Long Hill. And possibly any knowledge of what happened to the farmers ( I know Shukers lived in one ) and where all the building materials went.

thanks in advance -

Hi Ferni

If you visit http://goyt-valley.org.uk/photos/goyt-views/ you can find a photo that has Brownhills and another with a glimpse of Shaw Stile. There was a photo on this website last year that showed Shaw Stile more clearly.
