Please can any gardeners out there put a name to the large green leaf plant in the foreground it’s about 1 mtr. in height?  Her indoors purchased it from a garden centre this year and lost the label.
Thanks

Yes I am sure Mrs Rock Banker is correct, I did find a picture that was very close, in that species this afternoon.
Why Mrs Bridgemonty thought it would compliment the water feature at the back of it remains a mystery.

Thanks

My mystery plant continues to grow now about 2.5mtrs.  A rather nervous looking neighbour enquired as to its species this morning.  I still think Mrs Rockbanker was probably correct, perhaps flowers will eventually confirm

Still on gardens….
Had some solar powered steel garden lights in the shed for a few years,
Never looked right stuck in flower beds, so I have painted them black and secured them to my hanging basket brackets with Jubilee clips, pleased with them now good effect at night.

Never been too exited about cutting grass so this is now my back lawn.  Although I must admit a nice green lawn can look good with dedication to it’s care.

Thought I might as well add my “Garden Kitchen” which is in fact re-cycled bricks formally a fireplace from "Mrs Over The Garden Wall’s" lounge.  Don’t look too close at the bricklaying.

Do you have any holiday snaps to share, or may be any of the Christening?

Good Morning Pensionman,

Just ask Jon to delete the string if it upsets you, then we can get back to Dog Muck etc, if that is more to your taste.
Just trying to lighten up and develop new topics.

Well, I for one think your garden looks lovely. I wish I could say the same about mine! All your plants seem to be flourishing. Is that due to the weather or have you a secret recipe for feeding them?

Thank You Mr Fedup,

I use potting compost that usually gives good results for most pot plants – “Levingtons Multi Purpose” £11 for three bags at our local garden centre.

For everything in the garden I use a water soluble feed as below one box lasts a full season, Asda is best for price £4, garden centres usually charge much more, applied at about two week intervals, with the old watering can.

Ordinary watering is a daily essential with this hot spell.

Staring at it seated in a garden chair with a can of  beer in hand after 4.00 pm is also an essential.

Cheers

Peter T

Super ones; think I should quickly delete my effort. Or perhaps they might catch up?

Thanks for the information Bridgemonty. Perhaps we should have a gardening section on the Forum?

 Good idea Mr Fedup….

I believe that this Forum is an excellent foundation for a much wider scope of interests and information for Whaley Bridge residents.

I think that my mystery plant has reached maturity a few flowers are falling and about 3 metres high.  Thought I should show the end result, flowers appear to be different in shape than Mrs Rockbanker’s more like a paper rose.

Not for a window box this one.
