Jon.

If we attend the meeting what can we do? Are the public allowed to speak?

Please contact the Whaley Bridge Matters group - Martin Bold and Kevin Worthington. Their details should be on the whaleybridge.com website in one of the articles.
Cheers

Well whoever it was good on them and given that most of the village is opposed to the development I very much doubt that they felt the need to seek permission to put it up.
thanks 1 user thanked Wanderer returns for this useful post.

"... given that most of the village is opposed to the development".... I'd be interested to see any figures to support this statement??? ..... Not just an opinion!!!!
I'm more interested to find out if this has been done with the knowledge and support of WBTC? Can anyone now put up a banner in any prominent public position in Whaley if they want to?

A pertition with 527 signatures speaks volumes me thinks.

As for the banners well advertising seems to go on lamp posts and opposite the Tesco entrance without any sort of permission

2011 census of WB says population was 6,455: 527 isn't "most of the village!!!
To be clear, I'm personally not in favour of the development, but mostly on the grounds of access in/out, and congestion on Macclesfield Road, we do however need more housing in the area. A point most of the village surely agree on....
My question is simply are "the authorities" OK with this banner where it is? If so, I assume they won't object to this being a site for another one after this debate has finished? Or maybe we will be happy for the proposed developers to erect a larger banner on the Mechanics???

Of the people who responded to the HPBC local plan consultation 94% were against the development. The comments are available on the website.

Since they are a self selected, mainly self interested,  group that is a meaningless statistic.

There are still scruffy posters on lamp posts in Horwich End advertising last years Water Weekend.

Why don't the people who put these posters up remove them after the event?

Why don't you grumpy? I often clip irritating nettles, blackberry bushes, triffids etc that impede my way with a cheeky set of seceteurs I carry on my person. In fact where are they HE & I'll nip the offending posters for you as often walk that way with my mutt (with poop bag).
