Two steam engines will be seen going through Whaley Bridge this Saturday at around 4.30pm. Something to take the kids to watch !
The engines are running from Buxton to the East Lancashire Railway at Bury after completing an Ealing Broadway to Buxton excursion on Saturday 15 March.
The approximate times that they can be seen on the line at various places is given below.

Good afternoon Chairman Jon.

I believe one of the engines that will be travelling through Whaley this weekend will be the “Oliver Cromwell”.

It now looks as if Oliver Cromwell will not be running and the train will be hauled by two ex LMS Black 5s.

Thank you for the update which, of course, was correct as it was two ex LMS Black Fives which passed through Whaley Bridge on Saturday.
