Having gone suddenly deaf in my left ear and trying a week of drops without success I call My Local Surgery.

Me “Can I please make an appointment to have my ear syringed”?

Reception “Sorry no, I have no nurses available, try tomorrow”.

Next day I make same call.

Reception “ Sorry no but If you come down now as soon as possible you can see a doctor”.

Minutes later I arrive at the desk and check in.

Reception "Please take a seat".

90 minutes later I am with the Doctor who looks in my ear.

Doctor. “ What you need to do is go to reception and make an appointment to have your ear syringed”.

At reception eight people in line, so I go home and call again by phone.

I now have an appointment for May 12th

Still deaf as a post getting on my family’s nerves.
