I was evacuated from Southend ( Earls hall School in 1940) and stayed for a short period at Horwich House. My brother and I (I was 6 and he was 4) were moved to a small village before winter set in, I don,t know the name of the village only that it was near to a quarry.I recently visited Whaley Bridge hoping to find Horwich House and perhaps take a photo but was unsuccessful. I would appreciate any help in locating Horwich House or perhaps a photo. Thank you John Windett
