I, and a few of my neighbours received a letter today informing us that we had won a major prize in the Spanish Lottery.
This is a well known attempt at fraud. If anyone else has received such a letter, DO NOT phone the telephone number given, DO NOT give any personal or bank details and DO NOT send any money. Please pass this information on.

Well spotted RB. You are certainly on the ball this week.
Another cautionary tale; if you do actually buy a ticket in the Spanish Lottery make sure you are over eighteen and not a member of ‘The Groovy Gang’.

And nor should you be a fraudulent artist or failed skateboarder!
I'm sure people reading this will think...
"Are these two on the old Jamaican woodbines?"
They, my friend, are possibly not afficianados.

Mr. Stephen-Smythe mentioned buying Spanish lottery tickets but did you know if you buy British lottery tickets whilst abroad (possibly on line) Camelot will not pay out. I think this topic was on the TV news last week but I didn't take much notice of it as I cannot make The Chunnel on the buggy without 2 or 3 overnight charges so I have to put up with holidays in Buxton.

Regarding buying UK lottery tickets abroad - I did just that 1 year ago, in Mallorca. I tend to buy online and remembered whilst away that I hadn't done the lottery.
I duly bought the tickets online, sat back in the hope I wouldn't have to go home (!!). Fortunately (!!) I didn't win and when I got home I received an e-mail stating it was "illegal to buy UK lottery tickets when out of the country". I felt a real criminal but to make matters worse, even though Camelot said my purchase wasn't valid, I didn't get my money back - I wonder what cause my stake went to - the wonderful charity of Camelot??
Oh well, you live and learn.
