I may be a little late putting this post on to the forum but when Britain went decimal it was not easy for older people like me at the time. After about 4  weeks we were just getting used to the new stuff when I went into Mr. Roomes for a pair of kippers. He said " one and tenpence halfpenny". I had to think quickly if that was more or less than 10p. I finally gave him the 10p coin and believe it or not he gave me the change. An old  penny and an old  halfpenny. Good old Harold, that was the old Bull-Dog spirit. We should have all done it.
