The next 3 meetings are as follows :

Tuesday 6th April  "Building The Big Ditch" by Glen Atkinson.  The construction of the Ship Canal.

Tuesday 4th May   "Two Queens And A Countess" by David Templeton.   The story of Elizabeth 1st, Mary Queen Of Scots and Bess Of Hardwick

Tuesday 1st June "The Restoration Of Staircase House" by Pamela Pearson

I shall post more details of these meetings at a later date.

The Furness Vale Local History Society does not meet during July and August.

The next meeting on Tuesday 7th September will include the talk "Crosses Of The High Peak" by David Frith.

The Autumn programme of Furness Vale Local History Society is as follows:

Tuesday 7th September       "Crosses Of The High Peak" presented by David Frith.

Tuesday 5th October            "Derbyshire Diaries" by Ruth Gordon

Tuesday 2nd November       "Pack Horses In The Peak" by Donald Reid

Tuesday 7th December        "Restoration of Staircase House" with Pamela Pearson

All meetings are at Furness Vale Social Club, Yeardsley Lane and admission for non members is £1 including refreshments.
