Hi all
looking at views of previous posts we seem to have only about 70 members of this forum- unless of course some members view posts more than once despite there being no new replies. It would be nice to have more people viewing so that we can be sure that the majority of citizens get to hear news quickly, perhaps we should aim to publicise the forum.
Well we have seven days to go before the first of our June events and I am pleasantly surprised by what we have achieved with only a few dedicated members. The Whaley Water Weekend has been a success and we hope to build on it. We start our program of three days with a film at the Mechanics Institute for young people next Friday at 7.30 PM, we will have young acts on stage on Saturday and a screening of the World cup game for the U18's at 7.30 PM witrh free refreshments.
This has all got to be good for the community and we are asking for people to join us on the new committee . Commitment can be minimal, enthusiasm must be infectious, we are most definately not a "clique" and are open to new ideas We hope to be the towns major annual event over three days and have had interest from a major local business. We have had interest today from a local organisation and it would be nice to all work together for the common good.
So lets all start pulling together and get this show on the road, the hanging baskets and bunting up and achieve what neighbouring towns seem to do easily.
The Mayor of the High Peak arrives next Saturday and our new MP. Lets show them a town to be proud of.

Hi all
We have a film show next Friday, upstairs at the Mechanics-it's for the Under 18's and probably the first public film show since Dora Gibson saw "one flew over the cuckoo's nest" at the cinema that used to be the pet shop.
This film will be the start of the Whaley Water Weekend's program of events that will establish W3 as an event to rival festivals in neighbouring towns.
If you wish to be involved in this exciting new development for next year please contact us at
W3@mobelec.co.uk
we are looking for:
Musicians
Artists
Performers
Childrens entertainers
Helpers
Local business owners
who are willing to give of their precious spare time for the community
