Add what you can, if you think it is interesting to others or it awakens another thread, I will look at John Simpson but you will have to give me some time needless to say he will be related to The Rev Willie  or Rev Dr William Simpson DD to give him his full title he was himself son of a Stonemason, if you can get hold of a copy of ''Uncle Willie'' by Don Borland  Caron Publications  1995 ISBN 0 947 848 11 8  this will give you an insight into this remarkable man who served his community selflessly throughout his long life, he also produced a small book about his early ministry which I can't put my hands on at the moment, I met him on a few occassions and I have some tapes (yes tapes) of us discussing family history when he lived in Bugsworth.

I have a copy of this book if anyone wants to borrow it. I got it because he used to stop me regularly in his usual way of just jumping in front of the car. With his long black coat he was always referred to in our family circle  as "Batman".

There are some fantastic photos there.  Sadly, when I tried to contact Frank Armstrong in March 2007, I was told by his daughter that he had recently died.  It is good to see the website still up and running.

Back then I was able to identify photograph 60, titled "In the area, but location unknown", without the aid of Google's satellite photos. It is Laneside Farm and Hill Farm looking northeast.  Map reference SK025832.  This is north of Buxworth between Dolly Lane and Over Hill Road.
