Bothomes Hall as photographed in 2007. Some great pics that should go down in the archives, as I don't think there isn't anyone who doesn't remember this building just off the bypass roundabout. A shame it got into a state of dereliction and disrepair, only to succumb to the modern-day "pad" that was built over it.
Thankfully someone captured the old-hall during its final years before it was eventually demolished.

Work on the 'modern-day pad' seems to have ground to a halt - we regularly walk the dogs on the adjacent field and nothing seems to have changed in months ... |

A few years back, just about the time they started the rebuilding, there was an exhibition of photos of Bothomes Hall in the Library. I can't find any planning permission for the rebuilding, so that could be the reason for it having stopped.

I don't think work has stopped. Most days there are one or two vehicles there and work seems to be continuing inside; perhaps they are fitting out the interior. There has seldom been more than two or three people working there since the start of the project which is no doubt why it has taken so long.
