If I remember correctly from my visits to Whaley as a child in the 1970's, there was a narrowboat hire company at the Basin. Are my memories true? Does anyone have any photographs, memories or other information?

Good afternoon Rockbanker.

It would have been Coles Morton Marine who were hiring out narrowboats in the 1970's.

You can still hire a boat today from Trafalgar Marine or, alternatively, sample the world famous hotpot on Judith Mary II.
