I have always wondered how the luminous green sign outside Footsteps got planning permission. As I understand it Market Street is in a conservation area and as such how can the hideous sign meet current planning regulations?

Perhaps Jake could advise of the position with this sign.

I can't be 100% certain but the sign was most probably approved as it was part of the original planning application.

Lit signs are allowable normally during trading hours even in conservation areas the fact that you don't like it is immaterial as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or in this case the planning officer.

I thought the Fish on the Furness Vale Chippy was put up as a tribute to our most recently elected councillor Jon Goldfish. This is a practice which should be encouraged and more tributes should be erected on the buildings around Whaley and Furness to honour the sterling work done by our local councillors. Perhaps this forum could be used for suggestions for any future appropriate constructions.

Yet another comment from High Peak Harry under the topic heading “New Chippy.” Now there's a surprise!

High Peak Harry, it would appear you have still not stated what your involvement with Furness Vale chippy is. The reason we ask the question is that certain members of this forum are convinced you are in some way involved with the chippy at Furness and as such your comments on this subject (of which there have been many) could be construed as biased.

Please will you answer the following question:

What is your involvement (other than as a customer) with the Furness Vale Fish and Chip Shop?

You may state that you have no connection with the establishment and if this is the case we will know you are telling porkies!

So, by your own warped reasoning regardless of my answers ad nauseum (for myself and other forumites) you won't believe anything I type if it isn't what you want to hear. There is someone in the hierarchy on the forum who knows that it is nothing to do with me but that shouldn't concern you should it? You aren't so much barking up the wrong tree as to be in completely the wrong forest. Now, my not-so-wily friend, please drop the subject and stop being so boring. You are making a lot of people on here unhappy resurrecting your childish little ideas on other threads. If it was my shop I would be proud to say so, I would even have website made and put a link in my postings (if I were clever enough) but it isn't, so I won't.

Goodbye!

I do not know where from or why you have copied this quote but this post is of no benefit to the original topic.  If this continues the thread will

Mr. Trueman, I copied this from post 65 where I am asked a direct question from wily who refuses to accept my answer. I put it in the correct thread as I have been chased around other threads by the aforementioned. I am not the problem here, all I have tried to do is bring closure to inane inquisitions. I am not the one who puts posts in irrelevant threads, if anyone needs addressing over their behaviour it certainly isn't me. If you check all the questions that have been asked I have ignored them for the most part to try and get back to decent threads about other topics. Feel free to lock this thread but also address the problem of harassment despite continued denials.

It will take considerably more than that to upset me, Denise. Or whoever you really are? I think you are also another person with several names who cause mischief.
