I too have been concerned about the nature and style of the posts from Limestone and so I tried to locate the whereabouts of Taxel. The nearest I could come up with was our very own Taxal.

I ventured to this fair hamlet to investigate any limestone that may be lying about and to be honest I found quite a bit of it and it was good honest Derbyshire limestone. Real quality stuff almost as hard as iron.

Your North Wales limestone on the other hand is a pretty poor substitute. Soft as butter and if you get enough of it then it can be a real pain in the neck.

There used to be an old saying:

Derbyshire born, Derbyshire bred,
Strong in’th arm, thick in’th yead.

I believe there is a similar saying in North Wales but that ends with:
“Soft in’th yead”

Now You See It........

The thread I started is now there but when I looked previously it had vanished. Well Known Norm couldn't find it, Chairman Jon The Whaley One couldn't find it and Snoopy couldn't find it!

There is no doubt that in May when the search for this thread was going on that it was not visible. Obviously we mere mortals do not know the answers, but we will not believe or accept that "it was there all the time"
