Has anyone else noticed the "us and them" theme on R.S-S's post #19 with the vertical ticket? Ordinary people have a  RETURN ticket but the workers have a THERE AND BACK ticket. This discrimination reminds me of my days in the RAF. On  a regimental dinner invite the officers were asked to bring their ladies, the NCO's were asked to bring their wives and the "other ranks " were asked to bring their women.

There is a toast in the Royal Navy, thus :-  " To our wives and girlfriends-----------may they never meet". We were not like that.

Just a minute; a few minutes ago you said you were in the Air force and now you appear to be some sort of Uncle Albert type naval man.

A local railway enthusiast has gererously loaned a set of drawings to the Furness Vale Local History Society.  These represent a schedule of poster and advertising boards for the station.  The drawings are undated.
