Just seen on Twitter that the road is closed at Horwich End is closed due to an accident. Sounds serious and I hope everyone is ok

It was very serious. No fatality as of 8.00pm last night when the Police questioned me (it happened right outside my house), but the officer said that it was pretty bad. A motorbike appears to have hit a car pulling out of one of the side roads. The paramedics worked on the rider for about an hour before trying to move him.
