Using heavy 4x4 vehicles on sensitive tracks such as Chapel Gate, The Royche, Pindale, Washgate lane, Houndskirk - to name only a few - is the very antithesis of tolerance. It is imposing a few people's - albeit legal - standards on a majority of people who's standards are very different. It is minority destroying the enjoyment of a much larger majority. You only need to look at the mess these vehicles have made of those tracks to see why there is so much opposition
The optimist believes that Whaley Bridge is the best place in the world to live. The pessimist fears he might be correct.

If Mr Cameron gets his way it won't be trial bikes and 4 x 4's you will have to worry about.

It will be lorries, concrete mixers and thousands of builders vans on their way to new housing and business parks being built on Greenbelt land.

Once the countryside has been turned into a housing estate  you will no doubt get the inevitible fly-tipping and whining about farming smells and farming noises that comes with them.
