Mcdonalds often employ staff to pick up rubbish in the areas surrounding their 'restaurants' as they realise a lot of litter comes from the people who visit them.  I'm talking about city centres and not on their land. Mcdonalds have no obligation and though it's not the kind of place I would eat in I do admire the efforts that they go to in cleaning the locality.

Hi,

A very  Big Thankyou to all those that turned up. You know who you are. Five of us shifted over 20 bags of rubbish in around 2 hours. Hard work but the area looks miles better now.

The large battery and other scrap achieved £7 at the scrappie, and that will go to Footsteps for their heater fund. The 3 large empty gas bottles were delivered to their owners at Chapel DIY and Bywaters - unfortunately no refunds!. Tescos let us dump all the rest of the stuff in their skip.

Thanks once again.

Cheers

Jon.

Many thanks to Jon and the litterpickers for the donation of £7 you sent towards the 3 new storage heaters needed at Footsteps.

Your efforts are much appreciated.

Having just cycled through the horse tunnel on my way to Tesco for some beer I wonder why we bothered. Place is littered with those wretched flimsy plastic bags again. And Terry has the same beer at a lower price in Bridge Wine.
The optimist believes that Whaley Bridge is the best place in the world to live. The pessimist fears he might be correct.
