I Think this may have been mentioned before but there are some serious pot-holes on the road to Macclesfield as well. So be careful out there!

So they are closing Whaley Lane for resurfacing again, this time for two weeks (from next Monday).

Anybody know what's going on, they only did this in February?!

The sign that is now at the junction of Whaley Lane and Market Street was, up until a day or so ago, at the junction of Whaley Lane and Hockerley Lane, and on the Derbyshire CC website it states that Whaley Lane will be closed from that point (Hockerley Lane) for the two weeks, so now I am completely confused. Surely they are not closing the whole road up to the border for two whole weeks!!!! I shall not be a happy bunny if they do.

The sign at the Whaley Lane / Hockerley Lane junction says that the road will be shut 06:00 - 18:00 22nd - 29th July.

Road is open but with a traffic light system in place.

I emailed DCC about this.  Apprently... "the closure in February was for patching works which had to be carried out in preparation for the surface dressing works which is being carried out now as it is a weather dependant job and cannot be carried out during the winter months. "

That will explain why the central line was never painted in February.

So the work can't be done in Winter months (understandably) but it can be done in this heat?..... when existing, well established "Tarmac" is melting!!! Be prepared for your cars to be covered in tar:(
